Biography

For over 20 years, Dan has successfully led many large R&D efforts for customers such as NASA, NOAA, DHS, and various DoD agencies. As part of DARPA’s Hallmark program, he helped lead the development of the KWYN SOLAR extended reality (XR) application that helps new space operators fully grasp the fundamentals of the space domain. Other recent work involves leading the development of autonomous planning algorithms for NASA satellites based on real-time imagery analysis of collected data to avoid missed Earth observation opportunities. Dan received his MS in Computer Science from Boston University and BS in Computer Science and Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and he has completed Squadron Officer’s School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College from Air University. In addition to being a member of ACM, AUVSI, MORS, and PMI, Dan is the SFA Boston Chapter VP for Industry Outreach and Event Planning Support and is an FAA part 107 certified remote UAS pilot and officer in the USAF Auxiliary, volunteering as the agency liaison to FEMA Region I in support of large-scale disaster response and recovery efforts.
