In light of the increasing operational and environmental challenges facing protected areas in the Kingdom of Saudi

Arabia, which stem from their geographical remoteness and heavy reliance on generators, there is a need to develop

sustainable solutions. This project addresses these challenges by presenting an integrated model for the design and

implementation of a smart solar energy production and management system, with the Uruq Bani Ma’arid Protected

Area selected as a pilot site. To achieve this, advanced modeling and simulation tools were employed. SketchUp was

used for 3D site modeling, while PVsyst was applied to simulate solar system performance and estimate energy output.

Furthermore, a predictive model was developed using Python to analyze system performance under varying climatic

conditions and ensure optimal energy distribution. The results highlighted the critical importance of considering

terrain characteristics and environmental factors to maximize productivity while minimizing ecological impacts. From

a technical perspective, the system demonstrated its ability to predict performance efficiency and enable autonomous

energy distribution through the use of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and cloud-based applications. This work

presents a practical and scalable model that can be replicated in other natural reserves, directly supporting the goals

of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.
