1. المقدمة

Water scarcity is one of the major challenges in agriculture, especially in arid regions. Traditional irrigation systems often lead to overwatering and wastage of water resources. This study proposes a smart irrigation system that automatically manages water supply using a soil moisture sensor and Arduino microcontroller. The goal is to minimize water consumption and support sustainable farming practices.

2. Objectives

Design a smart irrigation system that minimizes water waste.

3. Literature Review

Several studies have explored smart irrigation systems using sensors and IoT technologies. Research by Ahmed et al. Another study by Khan and Ali (2022) emphasized the importance of low-cost automation tools for small-scale farmers. However, many systems remain expensive or complex for educational or rural deployment. This project focuses on simplicity and accessibility for small farms and STEM education environments.

The prototype was tested in a small garden bed for three weeks, with varying soil and weather conditions.

4. Results and Discussion

The experimental results showed that the system effectively reduced unnecessary water usage by automatically controlling the irrigation process. 5. Conclusion and Future Work

أثبت نظام الري الذكي بنجاح كيف يُمكن للأتمتة البسيطة أن تُحسّن كفاءة استخدام المياه في الزراعة. قد تشمل التحسينات المستقبلية دمج تسجيل البيانات لاسلكيًا، والطاقة الشمسية، والمراقبة القائمة على إنترنت الأشياء للتحليلات الفورية.
