Biography

Jocelyn Belden, Ph.D. is an educator and researcher committed to advancing equity for multilingual learners and students with exceptionalities. Her scholarship centers on teacher self-efficacy across career stages, using a mixed-methods approach to examine how educators support dual-identified students in inclusive classrooms. She specializes in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and data-informed intervention design to address both academic and social-emotional needs. With expertise in survey development, qualitative inquiry, and systematic literature analysis, Dr. Belden bridges research and practice to improve outcomes for linguistically and cognitively diverse learners. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, academic success coach, school director, and director of operations, consistently advocating for inclusive education and systemic improvement. She is passionate about equipping educators with culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices that center student strengths.
