Maribel Guerrero is a dedicated educator and instructional leader with a strong commitment to advancing equity and excellence in education. She currently serves as the Director of English Learner (EL) and Dual Language Programs in Naperville School District, where she leads districtwide initiatives that support multilingual learners and their families.
With over 15 years of experience in education, Maribel has served in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum leader. Her work centers on building culturally responsive classrooms, ensuring rigorous and engaging instruction for all students, and creating systems of support that allow multilingual learners to thrive academically and socially. She has led professional development for teachers on sheltered instruction, standards-based grading, and curriculum design, while also guiding professional learning communities (PLCs) to use data-driven practices to improve student outcomes.
Maribel is passionate about empowering teachers with the tools and strategies needed to support diverse learners. She has played a key role in developing curriculum aligned with state standards while embedding multicultural perspectives, ensuring that student voices and experiences are valued in the classroom. In addition, she works closely with families and community partners to strengthen home-school connections and advocate for student success.
