Dr. Elenita Irizarry Ramos has over a decade of experience in teaching language learners of all language and multilingual teaching environments. She is a proud alumna of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus (UPRM). She completed her doctoral studies in Curriculum and Teaching at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus (UPRRP).
The focus of her doctoral work centered on documenting "Puerto Rican English Teachers’ Perception of Resilience in the Aftermath of Hurricane María”. She has presented at local, national, and international conferences such as Society for the Anthropology of North America(San Juan, PR), International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations (Toronto, Canada), International Society for Language Studies (Hawaii, USA), XVII Encuentro Internacional EducaVirtual (San Juan, PR), among others.
In addition to working as an Educator, consultant, and public speaker, Dr. Irizarry served on the Board of Directors for the XIV Puerto Rican Research Congress. Dr. Irizarry is also serving on the Doctoral TESL Candidacy Exam Evaluation Committee. Dr. Irizarry currently teaches at the Department of Graduate Studies of the College of Education at the University of Puerto Rico- Rio Piedras. She is also an active committee member on several dissertation committees.
In her spare time, she enjoys participating in volunteer work with underserved communities. She is a self-proclaimed idealist who hopes to contribute to society and make the world a better place. She believes researching ways to improve educational practices provides groundbreaking and innovative information for educators, academic administrators, educational policymakers & students alike.
