Biography

Mr. Sean Guarino is a Principal Scientist, Director of Training, and Section Lead for the Adaptive Behavioral and Cyber Systems Section at Charles River Analytics, Inc. His major research interests are focused on human behavior modeling, believable agents, immersive training, incentive engineering, and crowdsourcing. Mr. Guarino has extensive experience designing human behavior models using a number of industry tools, including Soar, ACT-R, IMPRINT, Herbal, and Hap. He has been instrumental in driving the development of Charles River's implementation of Hap, and was a co-PI for previous efforts developing computer-generated forces for wargaming in the cyber and missile defense domains, and training in the cyber, EW, air-to-air combat, and soldier training domains. Mr. Guarino has extensive experience in the cyber domain, where he has led cyber behavior modeling efforts for ten years, and cyber visualization and analysis efforts for almost fifteen years. Mr. Guarino also leads work in incentive engineering and training application design, and has led the successful transition of several training simulations to operational use. Mr. Guarino is leading Charles River’s development of KWYN, our product line for intelligent training technologies. Mr. Guarino received his B.S. in Computer Science from Cornell University, and his M.A. in Psychology from Harvard University.
