Biography

Fred Peretz is a nuclear engineer working in the Nuclear Science and Engineering Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Fred is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. His projects ranged from the design of the Advanced Neutron Source Reactor and the separation of medical thorium-229 from uranium-233 to the treatment and removal of the coolant, flush and fuel salts from the Molten Salt Reactor Experiment and dismantlement of the Tower Shielding SNAP 10A Reactor. Fred has also worked on various radioactive waste characterization and disposal projects, including both national waste programs and disposal of wastes generated at ORNL.
