Biography

Thomas is a mineralogist by training with a degree in earth sciences from the university of california, san diego. He has worked with Lisa Tauxe, Cathy Constable, Gustaf Arrhenius and Jeff Gee on the geomagnetic characteristics of magnetite at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA. After a post-doc at utrecht university in the netherlands he joined the state government administration of the german state of lower saxony. Here he is concerned with the geoscientific aspects of disposal of radioactive waste in deep geologic formations.
