Biography

Ioana Witkowski is a staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She’s been working for the past 17 years for the Off-Site Source Recovery Project in the field of sealed source recovery and transuranic disposal operations. She has many years of experience in the WIPP disposal of transuranics. She earned a Master degree in Chemical Engineering from University of New Mexico. Today her presentation will focus on new isotopes approved for recovery and disposal to Waste Isolation Pilot Plant and the challenges encountered when packaging these sealed source for final disposal.
