Biography

Betsy brings thirty years executive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. Her career has been focused on economic development, the environment, renewable energy and education. In 2003, she was appointed as the Tennessee Commissioner of Environment and Conservation, overseeing all environmental regulatory compliance and natural resource protection, and governance of State Parks. She previously directed the Tennessee Valley Authority's Economic Development program, earning the recognition of one of the top ten programs in the nation.
