Biography

Walter van Veen is a Professional Engineer with 35 years experience in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He graduated in 1980 and in 1983 with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering, respectively. He worked for 10 years in geotechnical consulting, before joining Conestoga-Rovers & Associates as a consultant on environmental cleanups throughout North America, including approximately 30 Superfund Sites. Between 2000 and 2011 he was the Project Manager and Auditor on Canada's largest environmental cleanup, the Sydney Tar Ponds. He is currently with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories as the Manager of Technical Integration.
