Biography

Aref Shehadeh is a senior undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering at Florida International University (FIU). His expected graduation is set for December of 2015. Aref is also currently president of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) chapter at FIU. He is currently working under the mentorship of Dr. Yelena Katsenovich on the project task titled “Monitoring of U(VI) bioreduction after ARCADIS demonstration at SRS F-Area.” The project’s goal is to monitor the effectiveness of radionuclide remediation via the enhanced anaerobic reductive precipitation (EARP) process at the Savannah River Site (SRS) F-Area.
