Biography

Mr. Van Hoesen has managed complex waste management and cleanup projects in Oak Ridge for over 30 years. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Environmental Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Highlights of his career at ORNL include: developing greater confinement LLW disposal technologies; retrieving 100k gal of TRU sludge from the Gunite Tanks; supporting the Integrated Facility Disposition Project CD-0 and CD-1; and, managing the ORNL ARRA cleanup efforts. He currently manages the Strata-G DOE EM contract for characterization services in Oak Ridge, and is the Corporate Compliance Manager and Facility Security Officer.
