2-years as lumberman and in agriculture. Studies of Agricultural Economy at Göttingen University. 1-year stay in South America, SOS Children’s Village, Cooperation business start-up projects. 1995-1998: Speaker for transport policy of the State Parliament group of The Greens. Many years of activity in youth work and anti-nuclear energy initiatives. 1993-1995: Member of the Green party’s executive committee in Lower Saxony. 1986-2001 - Member of the District Parliament of Göttingen since 1998 - Member of the State Parliament of Lower Saxony. 2004-2013 - Chairman of the Greens in the State Parliament of Lower Saxony. since February 2013, Minister of the Environment of Lower Saxony.
