Biography

Mr. Ryan Sheffield is currently a DOE Fellow and a senior mechanical engineering student at Florida International University. FIU has an established relationship with the Department of Energy – Environmental Management sector, which has supported Mr. Sheffield and FIU’s efforts in developing inspection tools for high level nuclear waste tanks at the Hanford DOE site. Mr. Sheffield’s primary focus is on robotics engineering and he has collaborated with engineers from Washington River Protection Solutions to obtain feedback and guidance during the development process of the inspection tools.
