Biography

Lawrence is a research assistant, and Department of Energy robotics trainee, working under Red Whittaker in the Field Robotics Center at Carnegie Mellon University. Passionate about developing autonomous solutions to problems in harsh environments, Lawrence has helped design and deploy robots to inspect and evaluate decommissioned enrichment facilities and spent nuclear fuel pools. This work has been in conjunction with Flour-BWXT and the Savannah River National Laboratory. Lawrence received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Drexel Univeristy and is near completion of his master's degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
