Biography

Jörg Mönig received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. Since 1987 he is involved in many aspects of repository research including theoretical and experimental investigations. From 2004 he headed the department Safety Analyses in the repository safety research division of GRS. Since 2013 he is head of the repository safety research division of GRS. Jörg Mönig is national delegate to the Radioactive Waste Management Committee (RWMC) of the OECD-NEA and chairman of the Salt Club, which is a subcommittee of the Integration Group of the Safety Case (IGSC) of OECD-NEA.
