Biography

Tom Bales has worked at Newport News Shipbuilding for 34 years and is a 3rd Generation Shipbuilder. Tom currently serves as the Maintenance Engineering Manager and leads the Facilities Asset Mobile Environment (FAME) Team. Tom has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is Lean Certified from Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA. Tom has earned his Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) Certification.
