Biography

Simon has worked in the UK nuclear industry for more than 30 years. Initially a radio-chemist, he spent a year at ORNL in the 1980s, generating data to understand the effects of severe accidents in LWRs. He returned to the UK to join a newly created group studying geological disposal issues. He has led disposability studies since 1996, and is now Head of Packaging Assessment at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
