Bill Murphie's distinguished career began with the Department of Energy in 1980. He has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a BS in Physics from Tulane University. He left the DOE in 2015 as the Manager of DOE's Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office in Lexington, KY, and is currently the Manager, Nuclear Programs, at Jacobs Engineering in Oak Ridge, TN. His background includes: radioactive hazard waste management, nuclear facility and site decommissioning, environmental regulation, nuclear power plant and fuel design, strategic planning, and problem solving.
