Tristan Karns is a Research and Development Engineer for the Nuclear Process Infrastructure group from Los Alamos National Laboratory. He began his career as a Post-Bachelor student and quickly established himself as an asset to the nuclear industry. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Montana State University Tristan’s concentration has been in nuclear material storage and worker safety. His work has included developing a heat resistant hydrophobic filter material, designing and implementing surveillance test systems and broadening the versatility of the current nuclear material storage containers.
