Biography

Naoki Shimada is a process and project engineer, Nuclear and CWD division, Kobe Steel, Ltd. He has a master’s degree in energy science and studied chemical engineering and organic chemistry. He was a process engineer in an LNG terminal for a city gas company from 2007 to 2011. After that, he joined Kobe Steel, Ltd. in 2011. He worked in the field of energy and chemicals from 2011 to 2015. Since he moved to his present division in 2015, he has been developing a radioactive waste treatment process for Japanese nuclear power stations and reprocessing plants.
