SwRI/Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses
Dr. David Pickett is an earth scientist who applies his expertise in geochemistry to risk-inform the regulation of radioactive waste storage and disposal, and to assess the safety and environmental impacts of a variety of other nuclear facilities. Among his areas of technical focus are the stability of radioactive waste forms, radionuclide release rates, and radionuclide transport. At the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses at Southwest Research Institute, Dr. Pickett is the senior program manager for projects related to high-level radioactive waste disposal, spent nuclear fuel management, and fuel cycle facility safety.
