Biography

John has 30 years of experience in radioactive waste management. He led 2 programs for the US NRC’s Office of International Programs that assist other countries in regulation and disposal of radioactive materials. John supported 6 IAEA missions in 2017. For 5 years he provided technical assistance to the NRC’s LLW Branch in updating their position on concentration averaging. John recently completed work on the Congressionally-mandated study of treatment technologies for the supplemental low-activity waste from the Hanford tanks. John holds a Bachelor’s in Geological Engineering and a Master’s in Civil Engineering.
