Biography

James Wilson is an environment geochemist specialising in geochemical modelling of radioactive waste storage/disposal systems and assessing human health risks associated with non-radiological substances. James has developed many reactive-transport models to explore the long-term stability of engineered barrier materials and is interested in how they inform the development of performance assessment calculations for repositories. Regarding human health risk assessment, James is particularly interested in the assessment of non-radiological risks associated with radioactive wastes, in the context of waste repositories and legacy sites, and the toxicological basis for setting exposure standards or guidelines.
