Biography

Marc Dapas is the Director of the NRC’s Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards with responsibility for the regulatory oversight of radioactive materials used for academic, industrial, and medical purposes; fuel cycle facilities; uranium recovery and waste programs (both low-level and high-level waste); and spent fuel storage and transportation. During his 29-year career with the NRC, Mr. Dapas held a number of progressively more responsible leadership positions in three of the four NRC regional offices, culminating in his 3-year tour as the Region IV Regional Administrator from 2013 to 2016.”
