Washington River Protection Solutions
Margaret has 12 years of experience at Hanford, Washington that includes tank waste testing and operational challenges faced today. She has a M.S. degree in Environmental Science from WSU and a B.S. degree in Biology from UW-La Crosse. Margaret’s personal interest in water overlaps with her work in regard to water chemistry and waste management. Hanford’s nuclear processing chemicals make the water chemistry extremely complex. Determining corrosion rates in the complex waste at Hanford is important because, less than 1 inch of carbon steel separates chromium, carbon tetrachloride, and radionuclide containing waste from soil surrounding the Columbia River.
