Haidy has been an active practitioner in the nuclear field as a researcher and radiation protection specialist prior to joining the CNSC in 2006. She has held several technical and leadership roles in the areas of radiation protection, integrated management systems, organizational change management, licensing new nuclear technologies and major projects management. In her current role as director general of the Directorate of Nuclear Cycle and Facilities Regulation, she oversees the CNSC`s nuclear fuel cycle regulatory programs, which span a broad range of complex facilities from uranium mines and mills, nuclear processing facilities, research reactors, and waste and decommissioning facilities.
