Biography

Hefin has an Honours degree in Applied Physics and subsequently completed the UK Ministry of Defence’s two year graduate training scheme in Radiation Protection, gaining a Post-Graduate diploma (with distinction) in Radiological Protection from the University of Surrey and the Royal Naval College. Hefin worked in both the civil and military sides of the UK Nuclear Industry for over twenty years in the fields of radiation and nuclear safety and emergency planning, prior to accepting the role as General Manager, Safety, Environmental and Radiological Assurance at ANSTO. Subsequently, as Head of Nuclear Services, he led a multi-disciplinary team covering Radiation Protection, Waste Management and Environmental Monitoring services to
