Biography

Dr. Ofra Paz-Tal is an organic chemist at the Nuclear Research Center-Negev, Israel. Currently working in the Decontamination and Decommissioning group and a member of the LABONET group (IAEA). Her research focuses on materials development for waste management: • New organic chelators for embedding in polymeric matrices for nuclear forensics and fixation of metal ion waste. • Fluorescent scavengers for lanthanide ions in aqueous solutions. For example, C-dots-aerogel hybrid as a high-affinity chelator for lanthanide and actinide metal ion.
