Biography

Navarro Research and Engineering, 2015 - present, Radioactive Waste Acceptance Program (RWAP) Specialist: Certified Health Physicist. Lead Auditor. 26 years of experience supporting the acceptance and disposal of radioactive waste at the Nevada National Security Site. Conducted over 200 audits of Department of Energy sites / Waste Certification Programs for compliance with the Waste Acceptance Criteria (e.g., waste characterization, sampling and analysis, RCRA, DOT, quality assurance). Developed guidance on waste characterization and provided waste generators with strategies and practices for characterizing different waste streams. Criticality Safety Subject Matter Expert for RWAP and waste profile approval.
