Biography

Robert Shmayda has worked in the tritium field for the past twenty years. He has been instrumental in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of all the tritium handling systems at the NSSI facility. Presently, he is working to expand the NSSI capabilities to handle larger volumes of tritiated mixed waste from the pharmaceutical industry, to triple the capacity of the heavy water de-tritiation system, and to double the isotope separation system throughput.
