Biography

Mr. McCartin is the Senior Advisor for Performance Assessment at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Mr. McCartin is responsible for ensuring technically sound performance assessment approaches and concepts are implemented at the NRC in the review of license applications of waste management facilities. Mr. McCartin is the technical lead for development of the regulations for a potential repository at Yucca Mountain and was a lead reviewer of the License Application for Yucca Mountain. Mr. McCartin has over 35 years of experience in analyzing geological disposal of radioactive wastes and has a Master of Science Degree in Physics.
