Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Ridgway (MS, Purdue University; PhD, University of California San Diego, Geophysics) is a Senior Scientist with ISL. He has worked on different aspects of geophysical research, with application to DoD, DoE and commercial customers, since 1981. At ISL, Dr. Ridgway has investigated electromagnetic methods for submarine detection and collision avoidance, nonlinear methods for transient detection, and the use of electric field measurements to aid submarine navigation. He investigated AUV-based gravimetric sensors for petroleum exploration, resulting in a successful POC demonstration. He is currently researching superconducting gravimeters for monitoring liquid in nuclear reactors and waste containers.
