Biography

I have worked in and around the UK nuclear industry for 29 years starting with a PhD in environmental radiochemistry. I worked at nuclear sites for 11 years, supporting environmental permissions and improvements, including development of operational environmental safety cases. For the last 14 years I have worked for the Environment Agency. I have regulated environmental permits at nuclear sites, with a focus on a major permit review of the UK National Low Level Waste Repository. For the last two years I have led a team of ten regulators responsible for regulation at eleven nuclear sites in England and Wales.
