Biography

Dr. Holahan is the NRC Director of the Division of Decommissioning, Uranium Recovery and Waste Programs. Before 2019, she was the Director of Rulemaking for the reactor and materials programs. She has held a variety of positions in a number of offices at the NRC and as a former Chairman Technical Assistant. Before joining the NRC in 1991, Dr. Holahan was a Radiation Biologist Consultant and an Assistant Professor for the University of Texas’ Health Science Center, in San Antonio. She received her Ph.D. in Radiation Biology from Colorado State University and a BS (Honours) and MS Degree in Biophysics from the University of Western Ontario.
