Biography

President & CEO of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, a Canadian Crown corporation with a mandate to fulfill Canada’s radioactive waste and decommissioning responsibilities and enable nuclear science and technology. AECL recently moved to a Government-owned, Contractor-operated model, and Richard is providing leadership from the Government side as AECL establishes this new contractual relationship. With over 32 years of experience in decommissioning and waste management gained through leadership roles on some of the largest and most complex decommissioning projects in the world (Magnox & Sellafield in the UK, Rocky Flats & Connecticut Yankee site in the US).
