Dr. Susana Franco-Fuenmayor is an accomplished educator with 24 years of experience in multilingual education. Currently serving as the Director of Multilingual Programs at Pearland Independent School District, she oversees the implementation of Dual Language, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Languages Other than English (LOTE) programs.
Her diverse professional background includes roles as a dual language teacher, field supervisor, educational researcher, program evaluator, and university faculty member. Dr. Franco-Fuenmayor holds a Doctorate in Educational Psychology with a focus on Bilingual Education from Texas A&M University, along with a Master’s degree in Bilingual/ESL Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Saint Thomas.
Driven by her passion for creating equitable educational opportunities for multilingual learners, Dr. Franco-Fuenmayor's vision emphasizes the importance of inclusive and effective educational practices.
