Biography

Sandra Luna is the Director of Multilingual Services for West Northfield School District 31 in Illinois. A bilingual educator since 2007, she has spent her career working closely with multilingual students and their families, advocating for equitable access to high-quality instruction and inclusive school communities. Her work focuses on creating and sustaining systems that support the academic and linguistic development of diverse learners. She works closely with other district leadership to continuously implement research-based practices, including a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) tailored to the needs of multilingual students. In recognition of her leadership and impact, she was honored with an Award of Excellence in the Those Who Excel program by the Illinois State Board of Education. With nearly two decades of experience as both a classroom teacher and an administrator, Sandra is committed to empowering educators, partnering with families, and advancing equity for multilingual learners at every level.
