Biography

Dr. Ganesh Venkataraman, completed his MBBS form NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur & M.S. in Ophthalmology from MGM Medical College, Indore in 2003. He completed his fellowship in Glaucoma from Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore in 2005. He joined Aravind Eye Hospital as a consultant in 2005 and continues to offer his services there till date where he is the Chief Consultant of the Glaucoma Services in Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, India. He is a high volume cataract and glaucoma surgeon, and has extensive experience in glaucoma and cataract procedures including patchless glaucoma valve implant, GATT, Canaloplasty and device assisted trabeculectomy. He is a LAICO visiting consultant to various eye hospitals in India and abroad for capacity building assessment. He has numerous paper and poster presentation in various state, national and international forum and has to his credit 35 publications in national and internationals journals. He received the young ophthalmologist travel grant award during the World Glaucoma Congress, Vancouver (2013). He is a former Glaucoma India Education programme coordinator (South Zone) for the GSI and has conducted 10 CME programmes for the benefit of general ophthalmologists in various districts of South India during 2016-2018. He was also the the Secretary of Coimbatore Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons for the year 2019-2020.
