Dr. Washington “Nino” Collado was born in the Dominican Republic in 1962. Dr. W. B. Collado is a lifelong learner and has obtained several college degrees:
• Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, 2018,
• Educational Specialist from Florida International University, 2002,
• Two master’s in educational leadership from Florida Atlantic University, 1999,
He began his career in 1986 in New York Public Schools, teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language. In February 2021, Dr. Nino Collado received the distinction of Principal of the Year for Broward County Public Schools, the nation’s sixth-largest school district, and was also nominated as Principal of the Year for the State of Florida. Dr. Collado is also an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University, teaching courses on educational leadership.
Throughout his career, Dr. Nino Collado has dedicated much of his time to school leadership coaching and teaching. He has traveled to various countries as a speaker and education specialist: Colombia, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe (Africa), and Puerto Rico. Dr. Collado focuses on guiding school leaders on parental and community engagement. He has served as a panelist at CNN Español, Telemundo, Univision, and other networks. He has written 100 articles and published six books.
