Dr. Maggie Mosher leads transformative research at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) in education. With over two decades of experience as an education teacher and assistant principal, she now drives innovation in higher education. As a Co-Principal Investigator on more than $11 million in funded projects, Dr. Mosher develops groundbreaking instructional methods, including iKNOW—an XR-based program that delivers real-time, individualized instruction across over 180 social skills in 142 virtual reality scenarios. She is also a keynote speaker at leading AI conferences, sharing her expertise on ethical AI implementation that build communities of respect, collaboration, and innovation to solve real world problems in meaningful ways.
Recognized by the American Academy of Achievement for her innovation in technology, she has collaborated with leaders such as Nobel Laureate Dr. Baruch Blumberg and filmmaker George Lucas as well Dr. Ben Carson as a William E. Simon Fellow. Beyond research, Dr. Mosher co-founded EMBRACE, providing free special education resources to Kansas schools, and has launched multiple initiatives supporting at-risk populations. As an intervention specialist of the year and Horizon award winner, she is a member of the Exemplary Educators Network for the state of Kansas and the Flexible Learning through Innovations in Technology & Education (FLITE) Center, advancing educational practices to assist and collaborate on AI initiatives with developers and districts across the nation. Her leadership continues to shape how AI and XR can create accessible, evidence-based educational and social assessments and interventions that empower learners worldwide.
