National Director of Remediation/Vice President Dr. Laurie LaPat-Polasko has more than30 years of experience as a technical consultant and chief science officer for efforts involving groundwater and soil remediation. She combines her knowledge of microbiology with a background in civil engineering to develop cost effective remediation solutions. Laurie is currently an adjunct faculty at Arizona State University. Fun facts about Laurie: 1. She was bitten by a shark while diving in the coral reef tank at the Shedd Aquarium. 2. She lived on an island all alone for a month doing research. 3. She has a bacterium named after her that biodegrades methylene chloride 4. Her first job was working for Jacques Cousteau at the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.
