Mauricio Toscano is a versatile engineer and dedicated educator known for his analytical problem-solving skills, effective teaching, and adaptable leadership style. He excels in both educational and business environments. With a B.S. in Engineering and an MBA, Mauricio's expertise includes project management, procurement, and advanced technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and IMEX CMG. Fluent in Spanish and English, with basic Italian proficiency, he brings an international perspective to his work. As a math teacher in a Spanish immersion Magnet Program, Mauricio uses tailored methods that integrate engineering, technology, art, and mathematics. His innovative approach has led his students to win the state prize in a national STEM competition for two years. He collaborates with educators to develop a global, interdisciplinary teaching approach. Mauricio showed leadership by creating a school garden for the language immersion program and lead establishing a podcast innovation lab for French, Mandarin, and Spanish immersion students, enhancing language skills through technology. He also founded and presided over a university organization at Miami Dade College. Mauricio was selected to speak at the Magnet Schools of America national conferences in Chicago (2018) and Baltimore (2019), sharing educational strategies. In 2024, Mauricio served as the Public Relations Host Committee Chair for the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) Conference in New Orleans, overseeing communication, outreach, and awards coordination. As a panelist, he discussed bilingual education in Louisiana, offering strategies to enhance bilingual programs and policies.
