Amanda Carlow (Oglala Lakota) resides on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Ms. Carlow is a PhD student (ABD) at the University of Hawai'i, Hilo. She is the Director of Adult Lakota Language Instruction at Red Cloud School and an adjunct professor at South Dakota State University. Ms. Carlow teaches dual credit, college, and community level Lakota langauge classes. She is a 2020 Bush Fellow and a 2023 Northeast Community College Hall of Success inductee. She is the proud mother to son Riyen and daughters Ashlan and Kai'milla and grandson Damon.
