Ana, a fourth year PhD student, has a unique blend of professional experience and unwavering dedication to serving others. These have set her passion and research interest in her career. Her unparalleled commitment to uplifting Latino students and families in Central Texas is a testament to her character. As a doctoral student in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin, Ana demonstrates a profound commitment to advancing educational scholarship and practice for Latinx preservice teachers, students, and families. Dedicated to collaborating at Academia Cuauhtli, a community-based organization based on bilingual and bicultural indigenous studies, as a Community Liaison to Latinx emergent bilingual immigrant children and families. Furthermore, she worked as the head of Community Affairs for the Institute for Mexicans Abroad at the Consulate General of Mexico for over a decade. In this capacity, she was instrumental in fostering connections on both sides of the border within the Central Texas Mexican communities and public and private institutions. Collaborated through strategic partnerships and innovative initiatives to address the diverse needs of the Mexican Diaspora, with a particular focus on education, health, financial literacy, leadership, and cultural preservation. As a bilingual teacher at Hays Consolidated Independent School District, she provided students with invaluable learning experiences in both English and Spanish, nurturing their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Her dedication to instilling a love for learning and fostering competency among her students is evident in their continued success.
