Prof. Dr. med. Vinodh Kakkassery is Professor of Ophthalmology and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Klinikum Chemnitz, Germany, and affiliated with the University of Lübeck. He completed his medical training and specialization in ophthalmology in Germany and pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the Schepens Eye Research Institute, Harvard Medical School, Boston, with a focus on ocular oncology and retinal research.
