Biography

Allyson Newton is the Senior SIOP® Product Manager at Savvas Learning Company. Previously, she worked as a Professional Learning Outreach Specialist for WIDA, facilitating training on WIDA standards and assessments to educators and leaders throughout the US and in international contexts. Allyson has 13+ years of classroom teaching experience consisting of K-8 ESL and 8th grade Language Arts instruction in the USA - along with 3 years teaching K-5 EAL in China. Beyond the classroom, she has also served as a SIOP District Coach. Allyson received her Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and her Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Azusa Pacific University. She is a renewed National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in the area of English as a New Language (ENL).
