The Language Preservation Project
Rebecca (she/her/ella) grew up learning Spanish from telenovelas, music, and conversations between her parents. In college, she got the chance to practice her Spanish while studying abroad in Spain, interviewing people who lived through the Spanish Civil War for an oral history project. Rebecca has extensive experience in grant management, communication coordination and fiscal coordination. She has spent 10 years working as the grant manager and communication lead for a local non-profit organization in San Antonio, Texas. She has been a part of the Language Preservation Project team since 2021 as the Creative and Communication Director. Rebecca graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Journalism, Print Journalism and a concentration in Spanish and Business Foundations. In addition, she holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management.
